There is no single source that lists all of the holdings of the Library. Please read the information below to see which catalogue to search:

Innopac
The University Library's Innopac automated catalogue (OPAC) lists all of the books and current journals that are held in the Oceanography Library. It also lists the majority of conference papers, reports, maps, articles and back issues of journals in the fields the Library covers.

Items held in the Oceanography Library will have the location Proudman Ocean Laboratory.

Card catalogue
A card catalogue exists for items published before 1985. This includes, books, reports, conference proceedings and papers as well as journal articles. Items from this are gradually being added to INNOPAC, but if you are looking for a pre-1985 publication it is worth checking here as well.

E-resources access

POL/BODC Staff
POL/BODC staff can only access electronic resources provided by POL/BODC, there is no access to electronic resources provided by the University.

University Staff and Students
University staff and students, including honorary staff, can only access electronic resources provided by the University, there is no access to electronic resources provided by POL/BODC.

Other resources

NISC "Marine, Oceanographic and Freshwater Resources"
This database is available from one of the PCs in the library. It is a valuable resource for literature searching and includes databases licensed from: Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory, the National Marine Biological Library at Plymouth, the National Oceanographic Library at Southampton and the NOAA amongst others.
