My general research interest in physical oceanography is to use observational data to infer the physical processes taking place in the world ocean. In particular I am interested in characterizing the nature of oceanic velocities in the upper ocean and their relationship to atmospheric forcing, and this at wide ranges of spatial and temporal scales. I am also currently involved in the RAPID-WAVE program aiming at monitoring the Meridional Overturning Circulation from mooring and bottom pressure measurements on the western boundary of the Ocean Atlantic Bassin.
